Life at Pitcairn Primary School

Primary 6/7

P6/7 took some time to carry out a litter pick around the playground and surrounding fences. We were very surprised by the amount we found and hope that we have made a difference to our playground and local community.

We have been reading Fir for Luck by Barbara Henderson and we were lucky enough to spend the day with her. It was a very interesting day where we learned about her writing process and the journey of writing a novel. There were lots of laughs when we re-enacted an important scene from the book.

As part of our Health week we did fruit tasting in House Groups. Everyone really enjoyed it and some people were surprised with what they liked.

Our Burns Supper

As an enterprise project the P6/7 class planned a Burns Supper for their families. We made invitations, place mats, tickets, decorations and baked shortbread. It was a fantastic evening of fun, music and entertainment. We made an AMAZING £443.00 which will help towards our residential trip to Dalguise.

Thank you to everyone who helped and came to support us.

P6/7 had the fantastic opportunity of taking part in 2 curling sessions in November. We learned some new skills and had lots and lots of fun.  It’s not as easy as it looks!

Huge thanks to the parents and grandparents who helped get us there!

Bridges Homework

As part of our Bridges topic we were set the task of creating a model of a bridge of our choice. The project took 6 weeks and we had to research the bridge, design our model, make our model and then deliver a presentation to the class.

We all had fun with this task. Some of us worked together, some of us worked alone and some of us worked with our family.
